kanji I keep mixing up

2026-01-11

A list for myself. Writing them down next to each other actually helps more than drilling them separately.

pairhow I tell them apart
待つ wait has the "going" radical 彳, 持つ hold has a hand 扌. Hand holds.
未 not yet: short top line, the thing hasn't grown. 末 end: long top line.
土 earth wide at the bottom like ground. 士 samurai, wide on top.
mouth in the gate = ask, sun in the gate = interval, ear in the gate = listen. This one is actually easy once you see it.
still no trick. I just get it wrong.
gave up, nobody uses 已 and 巳 anyway (I hope)

If you have a mnemonic for 輸 vs 輪 please send it.
